Take the giant TUI’s approach: they are adding “300,000 seats for its Summer 2025 programme bringing the total to 10.2 million flight seats now on sale from airports across the UK.”
UK airport capacity is increasing
While airport capacity doesn’t increase overnight, this is still a good long term message for the travel industry, and for money exchangers too. It looks increasingly likely that Heathrow is expected to get its long anticipated additional runway. Stansted Airport has permission to expand, and other regional airports are also set to grow. This is either by re-developed terminal buildings (Manchester and Birmingham) or by the use of larger planes. Luton and Gatwick are still campaigning for permission to increase in size.
